This Privacy Policy is published in compliance with Section 43A of the Information Technology Act, 2000, the IT (Reasonable Security Practices) Rules, 2011, and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020. By using NyayaSetu, you consent to the practices described herein.
Section 01
Information We Collect

We collect the following when you register and use NyayaSetu:

  • Identity: Full name, email, mobile number, photograph, date of birth, PAN, Aadhaar, and Bar Council registration number (for advocates).
  • Professional (Advocates): Bar Council enrolment, jurisdictions, practice areas, qualifications, experience, and fee structure.
  • Financial: Bank account or UPI ID for payouts (advocates); billing details for subscriptions (clients). Full card numbers are never stored — payments use PCI-DSS compliant gateways.
  • Usage Data: IP address, device, browser, OS, pages visited, session duration, and feature interactions.
  • Communications: Messages on the platform, support tickets, and feedback.
  • Location: City/state-level location for marketplace search functionality.
Section 02
How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage your NyayaSetu account
  • Facilitate connections between clients and legal professionals
  • Process subscription payments and disburse advocate payouts
  • Send transactional communications — confirmations, receipts, reminders
  • Send service updates and opt-in promotional communications (unsubscribe anytime)
  • Improve platform features, resolve bugs, and conduct analytics
  • Comply with Indian law, including lawful government requests
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and Terms violations

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for their independent marketing purposes.

Section 03
Sharing of Information
  • With other users: Advocate profile information is publicly visible. Client contact details are shared with advocates only upon confirmed booking.
  • With service providers: Payment gateways, cloud hosts, and analytics providers are contractually bound to use your data only for services rendered to us.
  • With law enforcement: When required by law, court order, or government authority under the IT Act, 2000 or other applicable Indian law.
  • Business transfers: In a merger or acquisition, your data may transfer to the successor entity with prior notice.
Section 04
Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers in India. We implement SSL/TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 for sensitive data at rest, role-based access controls, and regular security audits.

Data is retained as long as your account is active or as required by law. On deletion, personal data is removed within 90 days.

In the event of a data breach likely to risk your rights, we will notify you and relevant Indian authorities as required by applicable law.

We use essential cookies (login, preferences), analytics cookies (usage patterns), and marketing cookies (with consent). You may disable cookies via your browser settings. Continued use of NyayaSetu constitutes consent to our cookie practices.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data, and to withdraw marketing consent at any time.

Children's Privacy

NyayaSetu is not intended for users under 18. If you believe a minor has registered, contact us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

Material changes will be notified by email or prominent platform notice at least 7 days before taking effect.
